Other Stuff...

Other Stuff that defies single topic catigorization except under headings such as Other Stuff or Bits&Pieces is described here. The topics listed below will merit more attention in the future and probably gain their own individual chapters as GXWaterfall matures with each update and revision.

Printing Issues

GXWaterfall now supports Drag & Drop printing from the desktop, just drag a GXWaterfall document(s) onto a desktop printer icon to print the document(s).

NOTE: Coloring affects the printing of GXWaterfall documents e.g. text colors will be represented as greyscale on a B/W printer. Background coloring does not affect printing.

TIP: If you wish to just print a page(s), use the GXWaterfall print option as this will enable the printer to use the actual document fonts. Printing PICTs does not give as good an output (bitmap, pixel based) but PICTs are widely supported and therefore are ideal for attachments / compatibility etc.

Scripting Support

GX Waterfall is now scriptable (supports the 4 core events - open application, open document, print document, quit application).

Known Bugs

Here's a rundown on the current known bugs within GXWaterfall which have still to be ironed out.For the most part these bugs can be worked round and should pose no serious problems.

If you use a WYSIWYG (Wizzywig) extension for your font menus (i.e., Chicago is in the Chicago font, Times is in the Times font etc.) the hierarchical menu may not work properly (no submenus will be displayed). Such extensions must be disabled if this problem occurs. The problem came to light with 'Now WYSIWYG' which I was using - the feature seems to supersede/bypass some Menu Manager routines and interfered with some library routines I am using for the menu. Other WYSIWYG extensions may work fine.

Clicking on either the vertical or horizontal scroll buttons on a test document currently has no effect, for now however this is worked around by dragging the appropriate scroll bar until the desired document location is reached or else by paging through the document with the page up-down parts of the scroll bar.
